Claris Design·Build made significant progress on the construction of the new Mercedes-Benz dealership in Danbury, CT, owned by Curry Automotive. As the project entered its final stages, our team had shifted focus to the interior details that will bring this cutting-edge dealership to life, following the successful completion of many key exterior components.

This luxury dealership is designed to be a landmark in the automotive industry, combining sleek, modern aesthetics with the high-end service expected from the Mercedes-Benz brand.

As the future hub for Mercedes-Benz customers in the region, the new facility has now entered its most critical phase: transforming the raw interior spaces into sophisticated, functional environments where customers will experience unparalleled service and luxury.

Perfecting the Interiors: Service Shop Flooring and Showroom Finishing

With exterior work nearing completion, our attention turned to perfecting the dealership’s interior. In the service shop, we’ve been focused on completing the flooring, a critical feature of this operational space. For the past two weeks, our team has dedicated time to laying the floor tiles, which are now 90% complete.

The final step will be grouting the floor to ensure it not only looks sleek but also provides the durability necessary to withstand the daily demands of a high-traffic automotive service area. Once this is completed, the service shop will be ready to serve customers and meet their service needs in a modern, highly functional environment.

Meanwhile, in the showroom—designed to reflect the elegance and innovation of the Mercedes-Benz brand—we’ve completed the framing and drywall installation for the sheetrock ceilings. This marks a significant step toward finishing the showroom’s interior.

Our team is currently focused on the meticulous process of sanding and painting, which will give the space the polished, high-end finish that Mercedes-Benz customers expect. The showroom is set to be a central feature of the dealership, offering a luxurious, comfortable space for customers to browse the latest Mercedes-Benz models in a setting designed to enhance their overall experience.

Finishing Touches on Exterior Elements: Signage Installation and Brand Presence

In tandem with the interior work, we’re also finalizing the exterior of the dealership. One of the last stages in the building’s exterior development is the installation of signage, an essential element of the dealership’s branding. Our team is carefully installing the Mercedes-Benz signage to ensure it aligns with the sleek, modern aesthetic of the dealership. These prominent signs will not only mark the dealership’s physical presence in the community, but also symbolize the near-completion of this ambitious project.

The precision in which the signage is being installed reflects the overall attention to detail that Claris Design·Build has brought to the entire development.

The exterior work is now in its final stages, ensuring the dealership's visual appeal will capture attention and reflect the world-class luxury associated with the Mercedes-Benz name.

Marissa Fusco, Marketing Manager at Claris Design·Build, expressed her excitement about the project’s progress and the dealership’s evolving design.

"I'm excited to see how things progress within the next couple of months,” Marissa said during a site visit with Nick Mastracchio, the on-site superintendent.

Marissa’s enthusiasm echoes the sentiment of the entire Claris Design·Build team, who have worked tirelessly to ensure this project meets the highest standards of quality and functionality.

Looking Ahead to Completion

As we move toward the final stretch of the project, the next steps involve completing the service shop flooring, finishing the painting and detailing in the showroom, and putting the final touches on various interior spaces. Once these tasks are completed, the dealership will be ready to open its doors, offering an elevated customer experience unlike any other in the area.

Over the coming months, Claris Design·Build will be focused on ensuring every element of the interior is polished and ready for the dealership’s grand opening.

The service shop will offer a cutting-edge space for automotive maintenance and repairs, while the showroom will serve as a welcoming, elegant environment for customers to explore the latest in Mercedes-Benz’s luxury vehicles. With each step, our goal is to ensure that the dealership lives up to the high expectations of both the Mercedes-Benz brand and the Danbury community.

In 1987, Claris Design•Build founder, Phil Clark, obtained an Architectural Engineering degree from Penn State. After graduation, he worked for various companies including Whiting-Turner Contracting Company and Shankel Construction. “I always had the desire to own my own construction business, and when the construction company I was working for downsized, it provided me the opportunity and incentive to get started.” Phil founded Claris Design•Build in 1991 with the belief that the traditional design/bid/build process was adversarial and becoming obsolete. He fashioned Claris’ business model around a more transparent and team approach. Bringing architecture, engineering and construction expertise under the same roof allows a holistic, yet streamlined, approach to deliver the ultimate design/build experience.
