Claris Design·Build is proud to announce the completion of the new Mercedes-Benz dealership in Danbury, CT, developed in collaboration with Curry Automotive. The state-of-the-art facility, which aligns with Mercedes-Benz’s stringent specifications while offering enhanced features for customers and employees, is set to become a standout in the region.
Throughout the design-build process, the project was shaped by teamwork, attention to detail, and a shared vision between Curry Automotive and Claris Design·Build.
A Collaborative Design-Build Process
As Claris Design·Build and Curry Automotive executives gathered to tour the dealership, the sense of achievement was palpable. Bob Carinci, Chief Operating Officer of Curry Automotive, reflected on the collaboration that brought this project to life:
"It's been terrific, the whole team was fantastic with the design helping us build the building the right way to meet Mercedes' specs and at the same time build something that our customers would love and our employees. So I think we hit really everything so it's been really terrific dealing with Claris," said Carinci.
The project has been a perfect example of how a well-executed design-build process can transform a vision into reality. From the earliest stages of planning, Claris Design·Build worked closely with Curry Automotive to ensure that the dealership would not only meet corporate guidelines but also create a warm, inviting, and efficient space for both staff and customers.
A High-Tech, Comfortable Environment
General Manager Joe Messner shared his excitement for the dealership’s service shop, which stands as one of the project’s crown jewels.
“I think it's my favorite part of the entire dealership. This is where we employ the most people, we have all of our technicians back here, and we did it with a great amount of detail and suggestions from you of how we can make it a comfortable place for them to live ten hours a day. We have a great lighting system, a state of the art fast RideTech door for our garage door, central air, big fans in the middle that keep the air circulating, a great heating system, and it's just a really comfortable, spacious place where techs can actually do their job and enjoy it. We love it , and it’s been a big part of what Claris did with us, so thank you” Messner said.
The service shop, designed with cutting-edge technology and thoughtful ergonomic considerations, is not only an operational hub, but also a reflection of Curry Automotive’s commitment to providing an optimal working environment for their staff.
It’s equipped with state-of-the-art systems that enhance both efficiency and comfort, making it a standout feature of the dealership.

Moving through the dealership, Messner and Carinci visited the spacious employee lounge. The new facility is a notable upgrade from the previous dealership’s break areas.
"In our old dealership we had two different small locations where people could take a break or go eat lunch or have a coffee and they were separated. Here, everybody gets a chance to get together and we're finding that the bonding is much better between departments and people are talking to people they haven't really talked to before" Messner commented.
With its panoramic view and inviting atmosphere, it was created with the idea that fostering connection among staff would lead to a stronger, more cohesive team.
The space was carefully designed to promote relaxation and interaction, reflecting the dealership’s commitment to employee well-being.
The Inside Parking Deck: A Game-Changer for Efficiency
One of the standout features of the new Mercedes-Benz of Danbury dealership is its spacious inside parking deck, which has quickly become a favorite for both employees and customers. Designed to accommodate up to 80 vehicles, the deck provides a convenient solution for vehicle storage, protecting them from the elements and enhancing overall organization.
This feature not only boosts the dealership’s operational efficiency but also significantly improves the customer experience, offering a premium level of service that aligns perfectly with the luxury ethos of the Mercedes-Benz brand.
A Smooth Process and a Bright Future
For Messner, this construction process was unlike anything he had experienced before, but with the support of Claris Design·Build, it was a seamless journey.
“I've never been through this before but you guys made it so easy and thanks to Bob for overseeing our side so I could actually keep working” Messner said.
"...For taking care of the details it's been fun, it's going to be great being here, can't wait to work with you again." Messner added
With the completion of this project, Curry Automotive celebrated their Grand Opening in June. In attendance were Mercedes-Benz USA Corporate representatives who were exceptionally impressed with the project, praising Claris in their achievement of completion five months ahead of schedule. This collaboration between Claris Design·Build and Curry Automotive has created a space that is not only visually striking, but also highly functional offering both customers and employees an elevated experience.
